Still no cigarettes today

I stumbled on a booklet today (that probably my uncle intentionally left here at home from Canada) that says: "for smokers who want to quit, one step at a time", that caught my attention. As a smoker, I've tried countless times in the past on quitting. May it be a week, three days, or just for 24 hours... to no avail.

I started to flip the pages of the booklet and saw that it is divided into chapters depending on your readiness to quit. It also includes "things to do" as an alternative or a permanent replacement. The booklet is so detailed and structured that will really make you stop / or help you along your journey in quitting.

Ironically, as I am writing this now, I am (yes) smoking while gulping on my almost-ice-cold-supposed-to-be hot coffee : ) Analyzing the suggestions on the booklet, it reminded me of me recent effort to cut smoking by buying one of those E-cigarettes. Unfortunately, the one that I bought was the cheap brand and it stopped working after a week. However, during that week that I substituted real cigarettes from the electronic ones, I felt better. No nasty smoke smell on my clothes, no smoker's breath, no coughs, the feeling of cleaner lungs, and most of all (counting the cigarettes sticks per day/week/month versus buying the liquid flavored thingy that made it smoke) is actually more cheaper. I wanted to buy those more expensive ones (which lasts longer) that costs pretty much around US $100. BUT, I don't know if an E-cigarette is really the best replacement in the process of quitting.

Bottom line, in all honesty, I think that I am not ready to quit just right yet. But if the electronic ones would be less harmful, then I think it would be beneficial for me to revert to that for a time being until I am ready to stop.

But I guess, QUITTING is still the best way to go ;)

Suffering

I have my share of sufferings, and I could say that more recently, I have suffered a lot. I have seen suffering among my family members, friends and people whom I do not even know. I happened to revisit the Book of Job and how he suffered.

DSLR Photography

I got my first DSLR Camera back in 2008. An office mate of mine sold it to me because he was upgrading his unit to the latest model at that time. Although I already have the 'point and shoot' type, being a shutterbug made me want to have the DSLR and also 'upgrade' unit.

Economical Party

We have four (4) kids, and yes all of them will celebrate their birthdays yearly ;) plus me and my wife for a grand total of 6 birthdays a year. So, we want to celebrate these occasions (of course) but we also do not want to spend too much on these so as to allocate "expenses" in priorities. Celebrating in a "cheaper" way does not have to look cheap.
